Creating A Path To Wellness To Prevent Suicide

Suicidal thoughts, much like mental health conditions, can affect anyone regardless of age, gender, or background. In fact, suicide is often the result of an untreated mental health or substance use concern. So, while suicidal thoughts can be common for some, they should not be considered normal as they often indicate more serious issues are occurring.
September is Suicide Prevention Month. It is a time to raise awareness and discuss how we can work collaboratively to find solutions to ensure that people at risk feel supported and connected, strive to shift public perception on this often stigmatized topic, spread hope and vital information to people, and ensure that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss their struggles and plan out a path to wellness.
