Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in the U.S. since 1949. Every year during the month of May, people join the national movement to raise awareness about mental health. When we stand together we can stand up against stigma, provide information on resources, educate the public that mental health is a part of our whole health, and advocate for policies that will support the millions that are affected by mental health.
During this years mental health awareness month, challenge yourself to examine your world and how it can affect your overall health. Look around, look within – from your neighborhood to genetics, many factors come into play when it comes to your mental health. Take time to understand how an individual’s environment impacts their mental health, begin making changes to improve and maintain your mental well-being through our Welltrack Boost program on the NMConnect app, and seek support to overcome mental health challenges.
