Over 60 million Americans live and work in seemingly idyllic, rural communities. But life gets challenging when a lack of access to healthcare forces a person to travel greater distances to see a healthcare professional, or get to a hospital, if the local agencies are closed (or non-existent) due to lack of funding or lack of available professionals to provide the services.
